When I met with Kellie last year to discuss wedding photography for her upcoming downtown Dallas wedding, she had booked her venue, the historic ballroom at The Room on Main. That right there told me she had great taste! It’s such a classic, elegant ballroom venue in Dallas and a perfect indoor setting for a July wedding in Texas.
Lucky for me, she booked! I had a blast photographing her White Rock Lake engagement session with Rob and their two dogs. It was so fun getting to know them more and to catch up on wedding plans. When the day finally arrived, I was so excited to get started. Enjoy this little preview of their amazing wedding day!
Kellie had the prettiest set of bridal accessories and I’m a sucker for a classic black and white invitation.
Kellie’s bridesmaids are some of the nicest and most helpful I’ve come across! They were accommodating and so easy to work with. It felt like a team effort and it always warms my heart to see friends come together to make the day special for the bride!
Kellie was honestly just stunning as a bride. We all literally could not help but compliment her at each step of the getting ready process. So much so that I had to actually force myself to shut my mouth – which is not easy to do. :D Haha.
And just look at the way Rob looked at her when he saw her for the first time at their first look! So sweet.
I love that a first look doesn’t take away from the bride walking down the aisle. In most cases, emotions are high during the processional even when the couple has done a private first look beforehand. If anything, it takes away the jitters and makes more room for just the happy tears!
And let me tell you about the father of the bride! Todd is the life of the party and is obviously so proud of his daughters. He made a lot of sweet moments happen on this day. Like when the officiant (Rob’s dad!) asked who gives this woman away, he reached for his wife and pulled her into the aisle with him to say “her mother and I do.” Cue the “awwws!”
I’m the first to say that 2.5+ hours of open dance floor at a wedding is too much. At 75% of weddings, the room clears and guests start leaving way sooner than that. Not at Kellie and Rob’s wedding! DJ Nate Nelson with LeForce had that dance floor full until midnight hit and it was time to send them off. He’s strategic in the song choices and how he mixes them. Truly, the team at LeForce is so good.
What a wedding! Kellie and Rob, I honestly feel like you had a perfect wedding. A room full of loving people surrounding you, a beautiful setting, and a party that lasted until the very end. Congratulations!
Shout out to the Dallas wedding vendor team that hit it out of the park!
