From our first phone call, I loved Kimber’s vision for her wedding. All of her style choices aligned with what I love to photograph. I’ve noticed that when this happens, I end up finding a lot of similarities to my own wedding. I love a perfect match and was so happy she chose to work with me.

I met sweet Kimber and Kyle in person for the first time at their engagement session. We had about eight thousand reschedules because of rain, but when it finally worked, we had the perfect day. On top of being the sweetest people who happen to be in love with each other, these guys are naturals in front of the camera. I knew then that their wedding day would be a breeze. And it was! I had never been to Avalon Legacy Ranch before, and I was so pleasantly surprised at each new area I saw. It’s rare to find a Dallas wedding venue with an outdoor reception area. Theirs is covered but open air, so you still get the effect but with the benefit of a roof in case of inclement weather.

The entire upstairs is dedicated to bridal prep and there’s plenty of natural light. So ideal!

The first look! If a first look will help calm your nerves and help you enjoy more time with your groom/bride, I’m all for it! It’s one of my favorite memories from my wedding and love it when my couple’s opt for one themselves.

The hair needed its own close up. I mean look at these gorgeous hair styles! I also love how Kimber’s florist incorporated dusty miller into their bouquets. It matched the bridesmaids dresses and the overall color scheme so perfectly.

A first look, and still sweet emotion and anticipation during the ceremony! It truly does not take away from this moment at all. I’d say it enhances it.

I love that Kimber specifically asked for a veil shot! It’s one of my favorites on a wedding day. She also wasn’t afraid of getting a little dirt on her dress! Y’all, I couldn’t love this girl more.

I raaaarely have a cake at weddings. Honestly, in 100 weddings, I’ve probably had cake five times. But if you have Nothing Bundt Cake bundtinis, I cannot resist! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. :D

You could tell when it was time for the last dance how hard it hit Kimber that the night, and this beautiful, epic day was over. It brought me right back to that moment at my own wedding. My hair was sweaty, and my eyes were brimming with tears. We danced sillily, just us two and held on tight, wanting to hold onto that feeling forever. I imagine Kyle and Kimber had a similar feeling.

Their guests sent them off to honeymoon in the Caribbean, officially as Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt.
