I’ll never forget this couple because of how they handled a tough situation on their wedding day. They planned an intimate ceremony in Nancy’s Garden inside the Dallas Arboretum, complete with a harpist. I left the Thompson Hotel to see a beautiful ceremony backdrop adorned in florals. Shortly after I photographed the space, just as the bride and her family were arriving, rain started to downpour. Allie took shelter inside a building and we tried to wait out the rain showers but it just kept on coming down. Eventually, it slowed down to a light drizzle. With no indoor option and time running out, the bride and groom made the decision to get married anyway. Family banned together to wipe down seats and gather umbrellas.
Allie had on some amazing strappy heels, but because the ground was slick, she kicked them off and ventured out to see her man. She looked truly stunning in her anna bé wedding gown, rain drops be damned.
I could have easily understood a couple panicking over this situation, but they never did. Sure, they were disappointed, as any couple would be, but they didn’t let it ruin their excitement over seeing each other and exchanging vows in front of their closest friends and family. I was so happy for them!
