December is here and my 2019 wedding season has officially come to an end! I made it a goal this year to blog weddings in real time, and although I did much better than years before, I still have several to make time for come January. I am excited to share some highlights from Diana and Edy’s wedding this past weekend at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and The Room on Main.
Firstly, it has to be said that Diana is one of the absolute sweetest brides I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I met with her on a cold day last winter, and I remember feeling instantly endeared to her after just the first minute or two. She has a gentle and welcoming demeanor that makes her so lovely to be around, and after meeting Edy at their engagement session, I was even more excited for their Thanksgiving weekend wedding.
Hair and makeup was flawless. It was my first time working with Styles by Vero and I’m so impressed!
She chose the most stunning dress with a showstopper of a train and my favorite – a chapel length veil to go along with it. But for real though, I think that train was taller than me, and I’m living for it.
To complete her bridal look was the fluffiest bouquet by Dr. Delphinium. I have to admit, my heart skipped a beat when I saw their name on the vendor list, and they did not disappoint. Those perfectly fragrant peonies gave me an endorphin high. Not exaggerating. I love my job.
Love this sweet moment of the bride and her beautiful niece!
I’ll say it over and over again. Nothing beats a classic black tux. Bonus – this group of groomsmen were so easy going and that really helps keep things on schedule. It was much appreciated! As a matter of fact, the best man (the groom’s brother) helped out with portraits and was so nice! He got emotional during his speech too, so I declare him one of my favorite best men ever.
2011 was my first full season photographing weddings. I got a dedicated second shooter gig that spring, starting with a wedding at Holy Trinity, so one of my very first 10 weddings I ever shot was at this church. I remembered how beautiful it was, and was excited to be back with nine more seasons worth of experience.
These triple archways were so gorgeous and I loved that they did a ceremony exit!
Love the joy on their faces in the above two images above so much!
That veil and those stained glass windows. *Insert heart eye emoji here!*
Into the Rolls…
And out of the Rolls!
It felt so good to be back at one of my favorite venues! Love this classic downtown Dallas ballroom. I won’t be satisfied until I have three a year here.
Another reason I love having a second shooter – because we don’t know which way you’re going to dip your bride! :D So it’s nice to have two of us to increase our odds of getting the right angle.
Cheers to the newlyweds! Have a wonderful honeymoon!
