Nic & Morgan’s Frisco Wedding

I’m a day late to wishing Nic and Morgan a happy 6 months of marriage! These two got married in Texas in April and then jetset off to Europe for a honeymoon through France and Italy. I shot a mini honeymoon session for them in Positano too and you can see those photos here.

Morgan and Nic bought a home together in Dallas last year (and had me shoot a fun lifestyle engagement session in their home! with their three pups! ) and decided to host their families who were coming in from out of state for their wedding, so she and Nic got ready at their house the day of the wedding. Morgan is just about the most laid back bride I might have ever had but that doesn’t mean she didn’t care about style. At her engagement session, I asked her where she bought her wedding dress from and as soon as she replied that she got it at a&be, I was immediately so excited to see it. And wow! It’s one of my favorite dresses I’ve ever gotten to photograph a bride in. I love the delicate flutter sleeves and the embroidered florals. Even the color is perfect. She topped that off with gorgeous beachy waves and she looked just perfect. Of course, Nic looked just as dapper in a dusty blue suit from J. Crew.

They had their cozy ceremony officiated by the groom’s brother at a park in their neighborhood, about a two-minute drive from their house. I imagine it must be the sweetest thing to be able to drive passed the spot where you said “I do” everyday on your way home from work. The day was sunny, yet cool for late April, which was fine until the wind picked up minutes before the ceremony. Halfway through Morgan’s vows, as she was shivering through the wind chill, Nic took off his jacket and placed it around his bride’s shoulders to protect her from the wind, and I (and probably everyone else there) gave a little “aw” because have you heard of anything more sweet??

Nic and Morgan rocked their portrait session, and then we were off to Frisco Depot for their reception. They had a donut wall that immediately made me regret having a boring ole wedding cake at my own wedding and made me wish I could transport back in time to choose a cool dessert display instead. From there, they celebrated and danced the night away as the new Dr. and Mrs. that they are now. Here are some of my favorites from their day.
