These two OU alumni met as freshmen during their first semester at college, and after five years together, Brett surprised Taylor with a romantic surprise set up in front of the house she grew up in and asked her to be his wife.
Taylor and Brett had their October wedding in what would be the most perfect, 75 degree and sunny north Texas weather anyone could dream up. They said “I do” in Classic Oaks Ranch’s incredible outdoor ceremony set up. Their gorgeous assortment of wooden pews were delicately adorned with fresh blooms by the always impressive Deitra Butler with Lush Couture Floral Design. The grandeur continued for the reception where a tall, white stone fireplace and grand staircase fought for the spotlight amongst antler chandeliers, cross-back wooden chairs, and an impressive king’s table covered in flower assortments, candle lights and gilded decor.
Taylor and Brett’s community of family and friends celebrated with them, and the speeches and toasts alone made it obvious how much this couple is loved. Their dance floor stayed packed the whole evening and the newlyweds laughed and held each other all throughout the party. The night ended in with a sweet last dance while guests lined up outside to send them off with sparklers. As a surprise from Taylor’s parents, a driver in a vintage getaway car was waiting at the end of the aisle to whisk them away. It was the perfect day.
It’s now been exactly a year and I hope this first year of marriage has been the best with many years of happiness ahead! Happy first wedding anniversary, Taylor and Brett!
